What does the Year of the Rabbit mean for 2023?
The rabbit is the luckiest of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac. Expect this year to bring prosperity, hope, and calm. While 2022 was a Yang year (meaning it was more about action), 2023 will be a Yin year and much more passive. There will be moments for reflection, rest, and renewal.
Rabbits are gentler, but they’re also agile and cunning. So in 2023, you will be able to navigate life quickly and thoughtfully while avoiding stressors and dangers.
This softer approach may be the necessary reprieve after an action-packed 2022. It will also aid your ability to confidently and quietly overcome any obstacles to your goals.
1st Jan…Global Family Day
All humanity is one big family, irrespective of religion, color, or caste. We need to realize the importance of peace and unity and celebrate the different cultures and beliefs of others. The UN called it “One day in Peace”. As soon as there is acceptance and no judgment, everyone is safe and happy.
*It is so important to spend time as a family.
*Choose one meal where the whole family eats together.
* Respect your elders. ‘Slow down and think about the lessons of the elders’… Maya Soetoro-Ng.
*It is the cornerstone of civilized behavior.
*It is basic courtesy to be polite; saying a ‘Please’ or ‘Thank you’ to everyone; wishing ‘Good morning’ or whatever is appropriate for that time.
On a lighter note: respect them as they made it

26th January - India’s Republic Day
India has been through various trials and hardships before it reached a point where freedom was provided to the citizens . . . from Mughal Emperors to being controlled by the British. Since the country faced many struggles, it was a matter of great pride when the Constitution was formed in 1950. It all started in 1947 when India gained freedom from the British Empire. In November 1947, a draft of the Constitution was developed and submitted to the Constituent Assembly. However, it took the Assembly over two years of discussions and modifications before the Constitution was finalized — the sessions held were open to the public. Furthermore, the Assembly adopted the Constitution on November 26, 1949, but it did not come into effect immediately. The documents that established the charter were signed on January 24, 1950, and the Constitution officially came into effect for the nation on January 26, 1950. This was also the day when India’s first-ever president, Dr. Rajendra Prasad began his term. When the Constitution came into effect, it also replaced the Government of India Act and established India as a Democratic Republic. Republic Day is celebrated to mark the day when democracy and justice were chosen to run the nation.
